Due South

"Oh, Ray, Ray, Ray, Ray... with a little perseverance and a little ingenuity and a fundamental understanding of how to go about it, one can live like a king in the woods!"
-- Benton Fraser, "North"

The trees in this section tend to be old and slow-growing, but they're very much alive!  Due South was my first fandom and is the origin of my nom de plume, among other things.

A note about dates: my computer crashed and burned, and over the past few years, every site I've had this stuff on has glitched in some way or other, causing me to lose all track of when I first posted what. I've tried to make my best guess in most cases, but sometimes, that's pretty much limited to narrowing it down to a particular year.  Then again, does it really matter that much?

DISCLAIMER:  I'm only gonna say this once (it depresses me), so listen carefully: I do not own these characters.  Most of them were created by Paul Haggis and owned by Alliance.  I am most certainly not making anything resembling a profit from their use.

The Peach

Nesting

Rated PG.  Pairing: RV/BF.  My truest vision of a Due South "first time."

Almost Human

Rated G.  Nonslash.  Ray gets a chance-- a rather long and uncomfortable chance-- to think about why Benny is the way he is.

Letter to Ray

Rated G.  Nonslash.  Set post-COTW, sort of an explanation of why Benny left.

Forever for Tonight

Rated G.  Semislash, RV/BF.  What might have happened if Benny had been in Chicago instead of Canada when the call came.

Forget

Rated G.  Not exactly slash... mostly Ray angst and wishful thinking.

Mistaken

Rated G.  Another angsty semislash RV/BF piece, set within COTW.  Based on Wilson Phillips' song "You're in Love."

The Words Get In The Way

Still more G-rated RV/BF COTW songfic angst.

Afraid to Dream

Rated PG.  Not slash yet, but will be eventually-- RV/BF.  Pondering the fate of the brother Ray mentioned in "Hawk and a Handsaw," whom we never see or hear of again.

A Dream Deferred

Rated PG.  More gratuitous RV/BF angst.  Follows "Afraid to Dream."

How to Spend an Airport Layover

Rated G, but contains one very mild m/m kiss.  RV/BF.  Sort of a PWP based on me feeling homesick and sappy at the same time.

Pass the Fruitcake

A bittersweet Christmas story set during the Third Season.  Rated G, no pairing.

Dance Lesson

Rated G.  Nonslash with RV/BF subtext.  Ray teaches Benny how to dance.

Happy Independence Day

A G-rated semislashy Fourth of July story.  RV/BF subtext, of course.

Heart's Blood

Rated G.  Sappy, fluffy, subtexty RV/BF.  Benny and Ray at the Precinct blood drive.

Mixed Nuts

Rated R.  This is my brain on organic chemistry.  No plot whatsoever, more of a challenge I set for myself.  An RV/BF sex dialogue using only lines taken from transcripts of the actual show.

Topping

Rated G.  Ray sets Benny an interesting oral challenge.  Completely innocent, but with heavy innuendo.

Filling

Rated G.  Sequel to "Topping"-- the same story, told from Benny's POV.

"Ours" currently holds the record for the longest single story I've ever written.  It's rated PG-13 for some non-graphic sex allusions and was originally published in early summer 2000 (thanks to a computer virus and multiple internet glitches, I've lost all records of exactly when I posted what).  Two major warnings: 1.  Yes, it's an mpreg, and 2.  I was 19 when I wrote it.  If I haven't scared you off completely, then welcome to my First Opus.  Broken into five parts for easier loading.

Photo Album

One of the two ongoing sequels to "Ours," Photo Album is basically a collection of brief snapshots of Abigail Vecchio Fraser growing up with her dads.  They're listed in order of publication rather than chronological Abby-age for ease of reference, but I've included dates in Abby Reckoning as well as her age for each one.  Longer glimpses of Vecchio/Fraser family life with actual plots are listed in the Video Library.
